STRIVE: Key Stage 3

Our KS3 provision offers a variety of subjects within a small group, this gives the students a much more positive experience and allows them to settle back into the routine of learning. This can allow the students to return to mainstream education if we feel it is appropriate for them.

All of students have access to English, Maths and Science lessons delivered either by the specialist STRIVE teaching team or by subject teachers who visit the department. 

Students' curriculums are enriched with subjects like Geography, ASDAN and Personal Development and this timetable is adapted each term to ensure high quality subject staff can lead the sessions.

STRIVE students benefit from a wide range of activities to complete outside normal lessons. This has included teaching students to swim, basic cooking, a garden project in conjuction with a local supported living accomodation and participation in project Gauntlet. These projects are developed to build social skills, team work and collaboration as well as engaging students in education and wider opportunities.
