Computing: Key Stage 3

Curriculum

In Key Stage 3, students have 1 lesson of Computing a week for the entire academic year from year 7 to year 9. These studies begin with an E-Safety themed unit, studying age-appropriate e-safety issues and presentation and word processing skills. The students then begin their programming lessons in Kodu, progressing on to Edublocks and finally Python.

In year 8 and 9 they will also study media-based software (photoshop and animate). This will enable them to create a movie poster using layers and tools. Animate gives the students an introduction to animation.
