VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing is a technical level qualification aimed at learners who wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed hairdresser/stylist.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients, provide a range of cutting and colouring services, and set, dress and finish the hair. Learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, their awareness of environmental sustainability and their commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers. Problem solving and research skills will also be developed.
In addition to completing mandatory units, you are required to complete one optional unit. A variety of optional units are available which include (this list is not exhaustive): colour correction services, hair and scalp treatments, hair extension services, men's cutting services, occasion hair services, managing a commercial column and social media marketing.
There will be 2 external examinations, graded practical assessment for each unit, a graded synoptic assessment, and a service portfolio.
Learners who achieve this qualification are eligible to become a State Registered Hairdresser (SRH) with The Hair Council. As a senior hairdresser/stylist, learners could progress directly into employment in a variety of contexts, which include:
VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technologies is a technical level qualification aimed at learners who wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed nail technician.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients and successfully promote and retail products. Learners will develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of a wide range of nail enhancement treatments including application of light cured gel and liquid and powder to create a nail extension, electric filing, gel polish and nail art, whilst looking in greater depth at the science behind these services.
Learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, their awareness of environmental sustainability and their commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers. Problem solving and research skills will also be developed.

VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical and Media Make-up is a technical level qualification aimed at learners who wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed make-up artist providing hair and make-up services in the media, theatre and performing arts, fashion, and photographic industries.
Learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy, physiology, and health and safety. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients, successfully promote and retail products, and provide a range of creative make-up services in media, theatre, fashion, and photographic settings.
